The Jumbo Brown is the O.G. of the coturnix quail, and ours are bred from the famous JMF Line. Also known as Jumbo Wilds, and Jumbo Pharaohs. The Jumbo Browns are in high demand for good reason. They are the easiest and most productive birds to raise.

FEATHER SEXABLE: Jumbo Browns can be sexed at just 3 weeks old. If you're looking to create a breeding flock of your own, you don't want to be feeding a bunch of birds that will eventually need to be culled. With the Jumbo Browns at 3 weeks old you can sort out the roosters from the hens. The males will have a rust colored chest, and the hens will have a light, spotted chest. We recommend a ratio of 1 Rooster per 5 hens for breeding.

Quail are considered "Jumbo" if their mature weight is higher than 10 ounces. Our Jumbo Browns have an average weight of just over 16 ounces at 10 weeks old. These are really good sized birds. They're great for everything.

VERSATILITY: The Jumbo Browns make great meat birds. They are fantastic layers, with the hens laying an egg most days. Their eggs are significantly larger than average quail eggs, so they're awesome for eating. Add in the fact that they're feather sexable and you really do have the perfect bird for self sufficiency.

Shipping wait times are updated daily, but they are estimates. They are based on our current order backlog. If we get a spike in orders in a single day, wait times could be longer than anticipated. All orders are filled first come first serve.

We package our eggs very carefully for shipment, and rarely have any issues with damage. But just in case, we always include a few extra eggs.
